A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation is the first step in developing a personalized treatment plan. During this appointment, we will take time to understand your current concerns, symptoms, medical and mental health history, medications, family history, lifestyle, and personal goals. We believe that every individual has a unique story, and understanding the whole person—not just the symptoms—is essential to providing meaningful care.

At the end of the evaluation, we will discuss diagnostic impressions, answer your questions, and work together to create an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management, supportive therapy, lifestyle recommendations, or referrals when appropriate.

Medication Management

Follow-up visits focused on monitoring your progress, evaluating medication effectiveness, addressing concerns, and making thoughtful adjustments when needed.

Medication management appointments are designed to monitor your progress, evaluate how well your medications are working, address any side effects or concerns, and make adjustments when needed. These follow-up visits provide an opportunity to ensure that your treatment continues to align with your goals while supporting your overall well-being.

Our approach emphasizes thoughtful prescribing, open communication, and shared decision-making. We strive to prescribe only when appropriate and to use the lowest effective dose while considering your individual needs and preferences.

Extended Supportive Therapy & Medication Management

Some situations require more than a brief medication follow-up. Extended appointments provide additional time for medication management while incorporating supportive therapy to help you navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, and strengthen healthy coping strategies.

Supportive therapy focuses on helping you process current stressors, improve emotional wellness, develop practical coping skills, and reinforce personal strengths. These sessions are especially beneficial during periods of increased stress, major life transitions, grief, relationship concerns, or worsening symptoms.

This service combines medication management with therapeutic support in one comprehensive visit, allowing for a more integrated and personalized approach to your mental health care.

Preconception & Reproductive Mental Health Consultation

Planning a pregnancy can bring important questions about mental health and psychiatric medications. This specialized consultation provides thoughtful, individualized guidance for those who are considering pregnancy or navigating reproductive mental health concerns.

During the consultation, we review your psychiatric history, current medications, previous treatment experiences, and goals for pregnancy. Together, we consider the potential benefits and risks of medication changes, strategies for maintaining mental health during pregnancy, and planning for the postpartum period.

This service may be especially helpful for individuals who are already receiving psychiatric care and would like specialized reproductive psychiatry guidance. Recommendations can be coordinated with your existing psychiatric, primary care, or obstetric provider when appropriate.

Please note: This is a specialty consultation and is not intended to replace a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation or establish ongoing psychiatric care with Blue Current Psychiatry. Individuals wishing to establish ongoing care with Blue Current Psychiatry will need to complete a Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation.

  • Completion of forms, letters, disability or FMLA paperwork, accommodation requests, and other documentation outside of a scheduled appointment.

    • Simple (up to 10 minutes): $35

  • For brief, non-urgent clinical questions requiring provider guidance between appointments. If additional time or evaluation is needed, a follow-up appointment may be recommended.

Scheduling & Payment Policies

Appointments require advance notice for cancellations or rescheduling, and missed or late-canceled appointments may be subject to applicable fees. Payment is due at the time of service, with convenient payment options available and superbills provided upon request for potential out-of-network insurance reimbursement.

Secure messaging is available to established patients for brief, non-urgent questions, care coordination, and updates between visits, with messages reviewed during regular business hours. Prescription refills should be requested in advance, while urgent or emergency mental health concerns require immediate assistance through emergency services or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
