Heidi A. Cook, MA, MSN, PMHNP-BC is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing compassionate, evidence-based care for adults ages 18 to 64. She treats ADHD, anxiety and panic disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, bipolar disorder and other mood disorders. She welcomes individuals with co-occurring substance use concerns while not providing medication-assisted treatment.
With more than 25 years of healthcare experience, Heidi has dedicated her career to helping people navigate life’s most challenging moments. Her background includes nearly 14 years in intensive care nursing, more than seven years as a transplant coordinator with LifeNet Health, and experience in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatry.
At Blue Current Psychiatry, Heidi believes healing begins with feeling heard. She partners with each patient to develop personalized treatment plans built on compassionate relationships, clinical excellence, and the shared goal of helping individuals move toward healing with confidence, resilience, and hope.

Blue Current Psychiatry is a cash-pay practice and is not in network with insurance plans. This allows for longer appointments, individualized care, and treatment decisions based on your needs rather than insurance requirements.

Yes. HSA and FSA cards are accepted for eligible services.

Yes. Upon request, a superbill can be provided for patients who wish to seek possible out-of-network reimbursement from their commercial insurance plan. Reimbursement depends on your individual policy and is not guaranteed.
Please note: If you are a Medicare beneficiary and have entered into a Medicare Private Contract with Blue Current Psychiatry, federal CMS regulations prohibit submission of our services to Medicare for reimbursement. As a result, superbills cannot be submitted to Medicare.

Yes. All services are available in person or through secure HIPAA-compliant telehealth for patients located in Virginia at the time of their appointment.

Secure messaging is available for established patients with brief, non-urgent questions. Concerns that require more extensive discussion, medication changes, or worsening symptoms are best addressed during a scheduled appointment so that you receive the time and attention needed to provide safe, personalized care.
